My Dentist Loves Me

I woke myself up the other night - well, early morning would be more precise.

3:30 IN THE AM!

I was sleeping rather soundly {as I have been known to do lately, thanks to a fabulous cocktail of drugs & sleepiness & overworked brain} when I woke up to a loud CERRRRRAAAAACK!!

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter, & noticed a chunk of something in my mouth.  Strange, I thought to myself, I did remember to brush my teeth before bed.  What could this be?

"THIS" was a rather large piece of one of my front teeth, number 12, in fact.

My teeth.  My TEETH!  For the love of jeebus - why am I still having trouble with my teeth?!?!?  I was so convinced that I fought this battle & finally won.  After years of dental visits, & braces, & orthotics, & dislocations, & finally a full crown & veneer replacement on my uppers at the cost of thousands of dollars that I don't readily have available, I thought it was all over but the smiling.

Nope.  Not me.  Somehow, some way, I managed IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, to snap one of my veneers.

Thankfully, joyfully, I called the dental office right away {yes, at 3:30AM} & left an urgent message.  I had a phone call by 8AM & was in the chair by 10:45AM getting prepped, scanned, & a temp put in until next week.

Colour me not happy. All I can think is "How much is this going to cost now?"

Ouch! You might have been doing some night-grinding and it didn’t know it. That might have caused your veneer to break. It’s a good thing that your dentist was able to set an appointment almost immediately. So have you had the veneer replaced by now? I hope it didn’t hurt your wallet as much as you thought it will!

I’m so sorry to hear about your problems with your teeth! I know exactly how you feel. I thought that when I’d gotten my braces off and had finished with the retainers, I was in the clear. But years later, one of my teeth broke in half, and the pieces had to come out. A few months later, my dentist noticed that my teeth seemed to be moving again. Yikes! I hope that your problems have been resolved by now though

If that were to happen to me, I’d be panicking ‘til the sun goes up. Thankfully your dentist was easy to reach and was available the same day; although that unexpected dental work is an additional bother on the expenses. Hopefully that’s the last you’ve seen of that.

No expense! My dentist replaced the veneer for free!
Not only does my dentist love me, but I love him, too!
