Procrastination Really IS The Thief Of Time

I'm heading out of town for a week. I leave tomorrow after worship, with the back of the Durango loaded down with all the things I cannot live without. Despite what people are saying about me, my stuff WOULD all fit in The Bullet, but I want the heated seats & lumbar support for my 3 1/2 hour drive.

I have not yet packed any of these things.

I am finding myself doing other bits ~ dyeing my hair {really, really needed doing}, dishes, tidying house, folding laundry, talking on phone, computer, Facebook, computer, petting DemonSpawn, blogging, grocery shopping ~ in a vain attempt to ... to what? Put more pressure on myself so I'm packing at midnight & all upset & rammy? Make myself lose it Berline? Make Puffy exasperated at me so he'll start thinking my going away for 8 days is a good idea?

I don't know why I do these things. I have been so planny, so careful, in the weeks leading up to this event. I bought my booze two weeks ago. I ordered up smokes last week. I did laundry 3 days ago so everything would be clean {I can't pack unless everything is clean. I must have ALL MY CLOTHES to choose from. Is that OCD?} So, what's the problem now?

1. The weather. Who the hell knows what the hell the weather is going to be like in PA in April? It could be 30°C above or 12°C below. It could be rainy, sunny, snowy, sleety. It could be a prelude to summer or a late winter blast. NO ONE KNOWS! Do you know how hard it is to pack for that?

2. I am a procrastinator at heart. I really am. No matter how hard I try to fight my nature, it all comes out in the end.

3. I'm lazy. I really am. Ignore the fact that I have two jobs & volunteer at 4 different places ~ I am lazy. & packing is hard work, yo!

4. My back hurts. Damn back! I'm having trouble figuring out what luggage to take that will be easy to maneuver without causing more damage. I suspect I'll end up with 47 little bags & will look like I'm moving to PA. Probably a good thing I'm not staying at Peanut's or Vinnie would lose it Berline when he saw me coming through the door with 47 bags! I've finally got that restraining order lifted & I don't want to be banned again!

5. Some of my clothes desperately need ironing & if there's one thing I hate more than taxes & stupid people, it's ironing.

All right, Whatever. This isn't getting my packing done.

I will hopefully be blogging in between partying my face off & nursing hangovers, so don't despair. You will not be without Wilma for a whole week so there is no need to lose it, Berline!

Hey. I do my part for world peace.
